Gigamic - Seite 2

Quixo is superficially similar to Tic-Tac-Toe - with one player setting crosses and the other circles, both trying to create a line with their symbol - but that's where the similarity ends. The pieces in the game are dice that have a circle on one side, a cross on the other, and blank faces on the other four; to set up the game, players place the 25 dice blank side up on the 5x5 grid on the game board.

To win Squadro, you need to be the first player to make a return trip with four of your five pieces.

Each player starts with their five pieces in troughs on their side of the game board, with players sitting perpendicular to one another. When you move a piece, you move it a distance based on the strength indicated in the trough that you're leaving. Once the piece has made its way across the board, you move it back based on the strength on the other side. If you pass over an opposing piece while moving, then that opposing piece must return to its last departing base and your moving piece advances one cell further than where the opposing piece was.

In Pylos, you want to be one who places the final ball on top of the pyramid. Sounds simple enough, right?

At the start of the game, each player has fifteen balls, either light or dark, and they take turns placing them on a game board that has sixteen indentations on it in a 4x4 grid. Once four balls have been placed next to one another in a square, a ball can be placed on top of them, forming a second level of play. Players can then place balls on this second level, eventually allowing a ball to be placed on the third level – and once that level is full, which requires only four balls, a final ball can be placed on the fourth level, with that player winning the game.
