The word saucepan comes from 'casse', which is an old French term for ladle. The practical saucepan was e.g. used a lot in field kitchens. A saucepan is simply perfect when you need to heat smaller portions - e.g. milk and soup - quick and easy. It is also extremely practical when you have to make creams or pudding. While you hold the handle with one hand, which of course does not get hot during cooking, you can hold the whisk in the other hand. The saucepan is perfect when you need to heat up sauce at low heat, and thanks to the smart pouring edge, you can safely pour the sauce onto the plate without spilling it all over. It is made of high-quality stainless steel, and food residues can be easily removed from the bottom of the saucepan, so there is no risk of food burning or sticking. All pans from WMF are of course dishwasher safe and can be used on all types of stoves, including induction.
