Freewell Magnetic ND/PL NEO 2 “Bright Day” filters are a 3-piece set (ND8/PL, ND16/PL, ND32/PL) designed for drone shooting in strong daylight. They reduce incoming light to prevent overexposure while improving color saturation and reducing reflections through built-in polarizing (PL) technology. The result is clearer, more detailed and balanced aerial footage in bright conditions. Magnetic mounting allows fast, tool-free attachment and removal for efficient field use.
Each filter combines ND and PL functionality. The ND component reduces the amount of light reaching the sensor, helping prevent overexposure and enabling more controlled shutter behavior in bright sunlight. This results in smoother motion rendering and improved overall exposure balance in aerial footage. The PL element reduces reflections from surfaces such as water, glass, and foliage while increasing color saturation and contrast, producing more vivid and natural-looking images.
The set is optimized for bright daylight drone photography, where controlling highlights and maintaining detail is critical. By offering three different light reduction strengths, the system allows flexible adaptation to changing outdoor conditions without compromising image consistency.
The magnetic mounting system enables fast attachment and removal by snapping the filter onto a pre-mounted ring, significantly reducing setup time in the field. This makes filter changes efficient during active shooting sessions.
