Case coolers, also knowns as cabinet coolers, help increase the cabinet airflow, which helps cool the components of your computer so they do not overheat. Case coolers are placed in different places in the case to optimize airflow. Fans that are placed at the front and side of the cabinet are used to suck new and cold air in while fans that are placed at the back and top of the cabinet are used to blow the hot air out.
When choosing a fan for your case, first of all, you should determine which fan sizes your case supports. The most normal sizes of fans are between 70mm and 140mm, while fans with a diameter of 120mm have become typical in newer cases.
If the fans have a 3 pin motherboard connection, the motherboard can give the fans power to rotate. If the fans have a 4 pin motherboard connection, the system is able to control the fan and the speed of its rotation.
The ariflow of the cabinet cooler is determined in CFM (Cubic Feet per Minute) and the higher the cooler CFM, the better the airflow you get in the case. However, a powerful case cooler may also cause noise, which means that you should also pay attention to the noise level (dBA) of the case cooler.
